Anxiety With Idiopathic Subglottic Stenosis (iSGS)? Learn Calming Skills That Donβt Depend on Breathwork
Hi, Iβm Sumit Sharma, a Mindfulness and Grounding Skills Coach for people living with iSGS. I teach calming skills that work even when focusing on the breath feels hard or stressful
Why Mindfulness and Grounding for iSGS
Most calming practices depend on some form of breath modulation to aid relaxation. Yet, what happens when you find it hard to breathe? That’s where mindfulness comes into the picture.
Mindfulness doesn’t rely on changing the way you breathe, but rather on the way you think. And by changing the way you think you can change the way you feel.
Why Calm With Sumit
My experience with Lucy, (a client living with iSGS), led to this service. Had I not met her, I would have not been aware of iSGS. When you have a clinical condition that creates difficulty in breathing, and someone says take a deep breath, I know how that can feel. I’ve always asked that question myself when dealing with anxiety and not being able to breathe easily. (Even though I didn’t have iSGS.)
That’s when I noticed how powerful mindfulness and grounding can be.
Having worked with Lucy, I was inspired to help more people like her find calm, that’s why I launched Calm With Sumit.
Within a month or so, something shifted. I felt calmer and much more at ease in myself. It felt like a wonderful breakthrough.
Sumit helped me see through negative patterns of thinking and helped me overcome them utilizing his mindfulness approach and the grounding that came from every session.
I also feel, one of the things that made a difference was when he helped me get in touch with a part of my life Iβd almost forgotten: my years as a professional sailor and yachtswoman. He asked me to find photos of me at sea. They were in an old shoebox I hadn’t opened for years. Dusting off that lid and looking through them, I reconnected with a part of myself I’d clearly been burying for a long time.
Working with Sumit helped me reconnect with the part of myself I needed to.
Since then, Iβve worked with Sumit regularly, with coaching sessions and also our 30-minute morning meditations. Itβs a wonderful way to start the day, and I canβt recommend Sumit highly enough.”

FAQ
What does an iSGS mindfulness and grounding coach do?
How is coaching different from therapy or medical care?
Can coaching help if I already have a good medical team?
Yes, and that’s often the best time to start. A good medical team gives you safety and expert care for your airway. But appointments are short, and much of living with iSGS happens in between: the quiet worry before the next dilation, the 3 AM thoughts, the moments when you notice your breathing and the fear that follows.
That’s where coaching helps. Your doctors focus on your airway, and I focus on how you feel day to day. Together we build simple grounding and mindfulness skills you can use any time, so you feel steadier between appointments and more in charge of your life rather than ruled by the condition.
What happens in a session, and how do online sessions work?
How much does coaching cost?
I also offer a free 30 min session so you can experience what a calm session feels like.
